CiscoWork's VMS UI, identity and tutorial system:
The VMS software has been developed to control, organize and manage large networks (5000+ work stations) of multinational corporations. One objective was to work in a collaborative capacity with internal product development and user experience teams to make this complex software approachable and look and feel simpler to use and be more appealing to its younger, GUI-oriented users: to address a spectrum of experience levels and expectations with one interface. The solution was to integrate an additional software component, the so-called “Jumpstart” tutorial which gives the user a graphical, conceptual overview of the functionalities while still offering a detail level that satisfies the much more sophisticated Network Engineer. The other objective was to develop the visual code of VMS to represent the Cisco brand appropriately and credibly.
